What is a Guru?

One who dispels Darkness

The Lights of the World

Gu and Ru are the Sanskrit words Darkness and Light and put together as GuRu or Guru they mean: One who dispels Darkness; or: the Light that dispels darkness.  Guru does not “mean” teacher.  However, a Guru can be a teacher, but only if there is a student or devotee, one who will ACTUALLY follow (live and embody) the Guru’s teachings.

All the GottaGettaGuru.com™ Gurus are living examples (though not necessarily currently “in the body”) of HOW to live in order to achieve a life of true peace, love and spiritual bliss, a life connected to God.  Their LIVES are their textbooks.

A Guru will probably not “give” you God-realization (however, it has been know to happen on occasion).  But, developing a spiritual relationship with God with the help and guidance of a Guru remains the surest way to get on a concrete path toward achieving it!

Now, we encourage you to check out our teachings site so you can get a guru!

Note: The GottaGettaGuru.com site is constantly expanding.  In coming months, we will add the Naad Guru, the Guru Granth Sahib, the Torah, the Qur’an, and the Christian Bible as “Gurus.”  So, not all Gurus have to be physical incarnations or anthropomorphic representations of Divine Spirit.
